The Run Down - Day 100
GREETINGS FROM DAY 100!
It seems like thousands of days ago when Sketchbet launched. Oh, it’s only been a hundred? Funny that.
Betwixt then and now, much has come to pass in this little competition. We found some of our rules to be, perhaps, over-strict. But we always enforced them evenly, sentencing both friend and acquaintance alike to the Sketchguillotine. Some posts were left untagged. MANY posts were left untagged. Whole LOADS of posts were left untagged.
But in the end, the most important thing is the art this competition has goaded and guilted its participants into producing. The nightly deadline can send some scampering for the nearest half-thought doodle. Others take it as an opportunity to grow and experiment, knowing that if a drawing fails to meet their expectation, they can make up for it the next day. Or the next. And so on until this heartless slog ends all who were foolish enough to be touched by its corpulent redolence.
In the coming days, we will feature a series of submissions from various Sketchbetters, both those currently participating and long since extinguished. We do not post them tonight because I just thought to do this and am deathly tired. But this menagerie shall showcase some of the many wonderful and weird pieces that this troupe of imaginauts (so tired) have produced.
Here’s to hopefully much fewer than another hundred days!
