Last Grave Peril Dresden character. Ortega. He’s described as Brawny and with board strong features. Meanwhile, he’s in a well made suit and holding a cane. It doesn’t really say how old he looks but I think the small amount of lines ads something that makes him more authoritative.
I’m gonna take a week off from the Dresden Files drawing because I will be getting ready for What the Hell Con! Which I will be at this weekend.
Today’s Dresden character is Mavra. She is basically a corpse, and also described as androgynous. So here she is dressed as Hamlet for the party. I referenced her outfit with old pictures of Dolets. So mostly the hard part was her face. I looked up mummies and tried to go with that look but less wrickles. So her nose is partially gone and her eyes are sunken in. Her lips are also all cracked. I couldn’t make them blue because this is a black and white drawing :P
Also, if you are liking these drawings you should check out my comic Sorcery 101
Today I drew Ferroax or however you spell his name. Not much is said about him other than he is in Centurion armor. What I drew probably isn’t very actuate because I didn’t have time for full on research. And a pick google search mostly gave my costumes rather than pics of the real deal. Also, his age is supposed to be hard to pin down so I made him look like a rough middleaged man.
Today I drew Bianca. She is described as curvy and has an unimpressive height. So I made her a bit rounder than the rest of the ladys that have shown up so far. Just to ad some more variety. I also made her look like she’s spanish decent since it seems all the Red Court higher ups are Spanish or hispanic. I also tried to make sure her dress made of fire looked like it was actually fire rather than just fabric.
Here is Thomas as he first appears in the Dresden Files. He is going to a costume party so he has used that as an excuse to be naked as possible. He’s tall and handsome and lean with muscles that are for appearance more than from working them for certain skills. So I used a figure skaters build for reference. When making his face I made sure to keep in mind his family so that there will be a small resemblances. Nothing obvious, but there if you’re looking for it. He also has curly hair to his shoulders so I had some fun with that.
Today I drew Justine for my Dresden character of the day. She is described as attractive and sweet looking. She like her date Thomas has used the costume party as an excuse to be mostly naked. So her outfit is a short skirt made of flower peddles and she has flower peddles covering her breasts. However, it doesn’t say if those peddles are attached making like a tube top, so I assumed they were just pasties.
Today instead of a character design I drew Harry and Michael in Costume for the ball. Since I didn’t need to make a new character design and just change their outfits I also colored it to give Manga Studio color test run.
Easiest Dresden Character to draw. Bob the Skull. I decided that the lights in his eyes would change shape and move to show his expressions and emotions. Other than that he’s just a Skull.
Today I drew Murphy for my dresden character. During Grave Peril she has a haircut that fits under a baseball cap and her first appearance is in jeans and a tshirt with her shoulder holster. So I pretty much kept to that simple outfit. She’s really tiny and tough, so I looked at the build of gymnasts who have well built arms and legs. Murphy’s also Irish and described as having a cute nose, so I gave her that nose with a slight up turn that is common in people of Irish decent (and in cartoons of Irish people like the Notre Dame Logo)
